MCDU Pants - Olive Green

The MCDU Pants - Olive Green are designed for intense movement and long-term use with a large amount of gear. In olive, they combine an ergonomic cut with elastic zones, reinforced knees, ventilation options, and a very extensive pocket layout. The decisive difference compared to simpler cargo pants lies not only in the number of pockets, but in how the pants support movement when kneeling, crouching, climbing, or changing positions quickly. Helikon-Tex purposefully uses different fabrics in specific areas for this purpose. The result is a pair of pants for airsoft, shooting sports, outdoor training, professional use, and demanding expeditions where mobility, robust knee areas, and quick access to small gear are more important than a civil look.

Material, cut, and freedom of movement

In this version, DyNyCo (49% nylon, 48% cotton, 3% elastane) is used as the primary material. Regardless of the material variant, Helikon-Tex also uses VersaStretch® in high-movement areas and reinforces the knee area with CORDURA® 500D. This does not result in a fully elastic pair of pants: the stretch is placed specifically where it provides the most benefit during movement. This is important to know if you are coming from pure stretch outdoor pants and expect a consistently soft material.

• VersaStretch® inserts at the waistband, crotch, and back of the knees reduce tension when kneeling, crouching, and taking large steps.
• CORDURA® 500D reinforces the knees where significant abrasion occurs during frequent contact with the ground.

Selection advice

The MCDU is especially worthwhile if you actually make use of the ventilation, the reinforced knees, and the extensive pocket organization. For a discreet everyday look, the UTP is more comfortable; the MBDU has a somewhat simpler construction. With the MCDU, also pay attention to the material variant: DyNyCo is particularly elastic, NyCo Ripstop places more emphasis on classic robustness, and PolyCotton Stretch Ripstop offers a balanced middle ground.
