MCDU Pants - MultiCam

The MCDU Pants - MultiCam are designed for intensive movement and prolonged use with a lot of equipment. In multicam, they combine an ergonomic cut with elastic zones, reinforced knees, ventilation options, and a very extensive pocket layout. The crucial difference compared to simpler cargo pants lies not only in the number of pockets, but in how the trousers support movement when kneeling, squatting, climbing, or changing positions quickly. Helikon-Tex uses different fabrics strategically in specific areas to achieve this. The result is a pair of trousers for airsoft, shooting sports, outdoor training, professional use, and demanding tours where agility, robust knee areas, and quick access to small equipment are more important than a civilian look.

Material, cut, and freedom of movement

In this version, NyCo Ripstop (50% nylon, 50% cotton) is used as the main material. Regardless of the material variant, Helikon-Tex additionally incorporates VersaStretch® in areas of intense movement and reinforces the knee area with CORDURA® 500D. As a result, these are not fully elastic trousers: the stretch is placed precisely where it provides the greatest benefit during movement. This is important to know if you are coming from pure stretch outdoor trousers and are expecting a uniformly soft material.

• VersaStretch® inserts at the waistband, crotch, and back of the knees reduce tension when kneeling, squatting, and taking long strides.
• CORDURA® 500D reinforces the knees where frequent contact with the ground causes significant abrasion.

Selection advice

The MCDU is especially worthwhile if you actually make use of the ventilation, the reinforced knees, and the extensive pocket organization. For an inconspicuous everyday look, the UTP is more comfortable; the MBDU has a slightly simpler design. For the MCDU, also pay attention to the material variant: DyNyCo is particularly elastic, NyCo Ripstop places more emphasis on classic robustness, and PolyCotton Stretch Ripstop offers a balanced middle ground.
