DESCRIPTION

The TT SGL Mag Pouch Clamp M4 is an open single pouch for M4/AR15 magazines with integrated plastic clamp retention. Unlike a purely bungee-based pouch, the primary hold here is created by an internal plastic clip. This makes the pouch particularly shape-retaining and facilitates controlled re-insertion. Additionally, an elastic securing cord can be used.

This version in stone grey-olive IRR uses CORDURA® 500 den IRR. The IRR property refers to the defined infrared reflection behavior of the material components; the fit and basic function correspond to the respective model. For reliable selection, you should not only pay attention to "Single," "Double," or "Multi-Caliber" in the name. Decisive factors are the magazine format actually used, the required capacity, and the available space on the MOLLE grid.

What is the TT SGL Mag Pouch Clamp M4 suitable for?

  • M4/AR15-oriented setups with open clamp retention
  • Belt systems up to 50 mm, where easy re-insertion is important
  • MOLLE carriers with two free loops
  • Training and sporting use with frequent extraction and re-insertion

Fit, retention, and attachment

  • Integrated plastic clip: The clip creates lateral hold while keeping the opening shape-stable.
  • Elastic side compression: Additional elastic areas support the fit to the inserted magazine.
  • Optional bungee retention: If more security is desired, the elastic cord can be used in addition.
  • Belt compatibility: Tasmanian Tiger explicitly mentions use on belts up to 50 mm wide – an important difference to many classic MOLLE-only pouches.

With magazine pouches, the fit is a functional part of the product. Two pouches with similar outer widths can behave quite differently due to reinforcements, compression, and insertion angles. Therefore, we only accept the magazine formats specified by the manufacturer as a safe basis for compatibility.

Terms simply explained

  • Clamp retention: With clamp retention, a molded plastic element holds the magazine in position through lateral pressure. This allows for an open design without a permanently closed lid.
  • MOLLE-Reverse: MOLLE-Reverse means that the attachment straps are integrated directly into the pouch. You weave them through the MOLLE grid of the carrier surface; a separate adapter is usually not necessary for this.
  • Bungee cord: A bungee cord is an elastic securing cord. It holds the contents under tension and can be quickly opened or adjusted via a pull tab or cord stopper.
  • 3D Polymer Pull Tab: The 3D polymer pull tab is an easy-to-grip end piece on the elastic security cord. It is easier to grasp with gloves than a thin cord alone.
  • IRR: IRR stands for a defined reflection behavior in the near-infrared range. In the corresponding TT versions, the material and other components are coordinated accordingly. IRR says nothing about water resistance.

Selection guide: Which model fits?

The Clamp-M4 version is particularly interesting when fast re-insertion and a shape-stable, open pouch body are the priorities. The BEL-M4 pouch is lighter and simpler in design; the MCL pouch is more flexible regarding various approved magazine formats. For formats other than M4/AR15, you should not infer fit based solely on external dimensions.
