DESCRIPTION

The TT SGL Mag Pouch Clamp M4 is an open-top single pouch for M4/AR15 magazines featuring integrated plastic clamp retention. Unlike a pure bungee pouch, the primary hold is provided here by an internal plastic clip. This makes the pouch particularly shape-retaining and facilitates controlled re-indexing. An elastic securing cord can also be used for additional retention.

The black version utilizes CORDURA® 500 denier. The color and material variant do not change the intended magazine fit; the format, capacity, and mounting surface remain the deciding factors. For reliable selection, you should look beyond just "Single," "Double," or "Multi-Caliber" in the name. The deciding factors are the specific magazine format used, the required capacity, and the available space on the MOLLE webbing.

What is the TT SGL Mag Pouch Clamp M4 suitable for?

  • M4/AR15-oriented setups with open clamp retention
  • Belt systems up to 50 mm, where easy re-indexing is important
  • MOLLE carriers with two free loops
  • Training and sporting use involving frequent drawing and re-indexing

Fit, retention, and attachment

  • Integrated plastic clip: The clip provides lateral hold while keeping the opening dimensionally stable.
  • Elastic side compression: Additional elastic areas assist in adapting to the inserted magazine.
  • Optional bungee retention: If more security is desired, the elastic cord can be used additionally.
  • Belt compatibility: Tasmanian Tiger explicitly mentions use on belts up to 50 mm wide—an important difference compared to many classic MOLLE-only pouches.

With magazine pouches, the fit is a functional part of the product. Two pouches with similar outer widths can behave quite differently due to reinforcements, compression, and insertion angles. Therefore, we only accept the magazine types specified by the manufacturer as a reliable basis for compatibility.

Terms simply explained

  • Clamp retention: With clamp retention, a molded plastic element holds the magazine in position through lateral pressure. This enables an open design without a permanently closed lid.
  • MOLLE-Reverse: MOLLE-Reverse means the attachment straps are integrated directly into the pouch. You weave them through the MOLLE grid of the mounting surface; a separate adapter is usually not necessary for this.
  • Bungee cord: A bungee cord is an elastic retention cord. It keeps the contents under tension and can be opened quickly or adjusted via a pull tab or cord lock.
  • 3D Polymer Pull Tab: The 3D polymer pull tab is a tactile end piece for the elastic retention. It is easier to grip with gloves than a thin cord alone.
  • CORDURA: CORDURA is a particularly abrasion- and tear-resistant polyamide fabric. The denier count simply describes the thread thickness; 500 denier saves some material weight compared to 700 denier, while 700 denier is designed to be particularly robust.

Selection guide: Which model fits?

The Clamp M4 version is particularly interesting when fast re-indexing and a shape-retaining open pouch body are the priority. The BEL-M4 pouch is lighter and simpler in design; the MCL pouch is more flexible regarding various approved magazine types. For formats other than M4/AR15, you should not derive compatibility solely from external dimensions.
