DESCRIPTION
The Predator Combat Pant in olive is the classic Predator tactical pant from Invader Gear, designed for users who want great freedom of movement, a very extensive pocket layout, and an adjustable knee area. Unlike standard cargo pants, it features elastic inserts below the waistband and around the knees. This ensures the pants remain flexible during long strides, crouching, or transitioning between sitting and standing, even though large sections are made of robust ripstop fabric. This makes them particularly suitable for airsoft, shooting sports, training, outdoor activities, and work where you need to organize a lot of gear directly on your person. Olive is a classic, muted outdoor color. It is very easy to combine with black, brown, ranger green, and many natural tones.
What are the Predator Combat Pants suitable for?
The Predator is a technically constructed all-round pant. It is useful if you are looking for a combination of many pockets, wide belt loops, stretch zones, and an adjustable knee section. For purely urban EDC, they are visually more conspicuous than jeans or low-profile pants; however, for active use, they offer significantly more organization.
- Airsoft and shooting sports: high range of motion as well as pockets on the hips, thighs, lower legs, and back.
- Outdoor: quick-drying blended fabric and adjustable leg cuffs for various types of footwear.
- Training: knee pads and an adjustable knee area are helpful if you frequently work from kneeling positions.
- Work: many separate compartments reduce the need to carry small items loosely in a large cargo pocket.
Design and pocket organization
The current Predator uses a ripstop blend of 60% cotton and 40% polyester. Elastic inserts are located below the waist area as well as around the knees. The waistband can be adjusted internally; at the ankles, you can adjust the leg width to suit your footwear. The large belt loops are practical if you use a sturdier belt for additional pouches or tool holders.
- Two open hip pockets: for quick access to frequently used everyday items.
- Two large thigh pockets: placed at the rear of the thigh and closable with Velcro.
- Two medium front pockets: additional organization without stacking everything in the main cargo pockets.
- Two lower leg pockets: for smaller, flat items you want to carry separately.
- Two back pockets: complete the total of ten pocket areas.
- Adjustable knee zone: pads and knee area can be adjusted; the exact level of protection does not replace certified PPE.
Terminology explained
- Ripstop: a fabric with a woven reinforcement grid. It increases tear resistance, but does not make the fabric cut- or damage-proof.
- Stretch zone: specifically elastic material in areas requiring high mobility. This allows the rest of the fabric to remain robust without the pants feeling tight when crouching.
- Long size: a version with extra leg length for the same waist/width category. This is particularly relevant if standard sizes fit at the waist but are too short in the leg.
- YKK zipper: a zipper from an established brand manufacturer; on the Predator, it is used for the front fly.
- Knee pad: a cushion in the knee area. It increases comfort and pressure distribution, but should not automatically be equated with certified knee protection PPE.
Selection guide: standard Predator or MK.II?
The standard Predator is particularly interesting if you require a wider selection of sizes: in addition to XS through 3XL, Invader Gear also offers several Long sizes. The MK.II follows a similar basic principle with stretch zones and ten pocket areas, but according to the current manufacturer data, it uses a different ripstop blend and a slightly different waistband/closure construction. If fit is your priority, you should therefore choose the available size first and only then decide between the generations. The Revenger TDU is the simpler alternative for users who prefer fewer technical knee/stretch details and a more classic cargo pant style.
Important note on material specifications: Older data or shop information for some Predator colors may still list 80/20 blends. The current manufacturer's website specifies 60% cotton and 40% polyester for the current Predator model. Therefore, the latest manufacturer specifications were used for this text.
