DESCRIPTION
The Direct Action Warwick Zip Front Chest Rig is a very low-profile, largely empty split-front platform. It deliberately lacks extensive, permanently integrated utility or magazine pouches. Instead, almost the entire surface is available as laser-cut MOLLE/PALS for your own configuration. Only flat internal pockets are located in both front halves. This makes the Warwick particularly suitable for experienced users who already own suitable pouches and want to define exactly where each pouch is placed.
The choice of color does not change the intended function. For a carrying system, the design, shoulder strap routing, available mounting surfaces, and the question of how much gear you actually want to carry on the front of your body are far more decisive.
What is the Direct Action Warwick Zip Front Chest Rig suitable for?
- Completely individual setups: when almost every pouch is to be selected and positioned yourself.
- Flat base platform: useful underneath or together with backpacks or other equipment.
- Split-front use: for easy putting on and opening at the front.
- Existing pouch collection: particularly interesting if you already own MOLLE-compatible pouches.
Design and practice: What can the system do?
- No large permanently integrated pockets: maximum freedom in configuration.
- Continuous laser-cut MOLLE/PALS: for your own pouches on almost the entire front.
- Central zipper: allows for split-front opening.
- Flat internal pockets: for maps, documents, or similar items.
- Elastic nylon inner layer: supports a body-hugging fit.
- Quick-detachable shoulder straps: allow for alternative use on compatible platforms.
- Sniper panel compatible: can be combined with the matching Direct Action accessory panel.
When adjusting, the rig should sit high enough so that you can easily reach the front pockets, but not so high that the shoulder straps pull on your neck. First, adjust the shoulder height and then tighten the waist or back strap only enough so that the system does not sway during movement. Then load it realistically and test sitting, kneeling, and carrying a backpack – only then will it become clear whether a pouch is truly useful in the chosen position.
With the Warwick, you should factor in the additionally required pouches before purchasing. The very flat platform is attractive because it makes almost no unnecessary requirements, but for that very reason, the actual function only emerges through your configuration. Position heavy or frequently used modules as close to the body as possible and test whether the front zipper remains completely unobstructed. Those who already own suitable MOLLE pouches can build the Warwick very specifically; without existing accessories, the total effort increases significantly.
Terms explained simply
- Zip Front: central zipper opening that separates both front sides.
- Slick: flat and without unnecessary, permanently attached pockets.
- Laser-cut PALS: modular attachment grid directly in the laminate.
- Sniper Panel: optional additional panel for compatible Direct Action Zip Front rigs; it changes the front layout and offers a flatter central surface.
Selection note: Is the product right for your setup?
The Warwick is a good choice if you deliberately want to start from scratch and want to determine your pouches yourself. For beginners or users without existing pouches, it is less convenient than the TMR or Hurricane because additional modules are required after purchase. Its strength is the flat, clean base – not an extensive standard configuration.
