DESCRIPTION
The TT Modular Medic Pack 38 IRR is a large-volume, modular first-aid backpack for situations where a small personal kit is no longer sufficient. With 38 liters of volume, a fully opening main compartment, six removable transparent Velcro pouches, two wide-opening front compartments, and a large lid compartment, it is designed for extensive, clearly structured equipment. This makes it particularly suitable for rescue and medical services, first responder teams, corporate emergency organizations, event and security services, search and rescue structures, as well as larger outdoor, hunting, shooting sports, or airsoft events where a central first-aid kit needs to be organized for multiple people. Stone grey-olive is the professional IRR version of this model family. It is aimed primarily at users for whom defined near-infrared properties are relevant in addition to structure and organization.
Great organization instead of a large search space
The decisive advantage lies not only in the volume but in the subdivision. The main compartment can be opened completely and accommodates six Velcro-attached transparent pouches. Five of these can be positioned on the front of the interior and one longer pouch on the side. In addition, there are variable attachment options for further medical equipment. This allows you to separate materials by function, priority, team, or restocking logic instead of using 38 liters as a single storage space.
Two zippered front compartments and the large lid compartment open wide and accommodate material that needs to be accessible particularly quickly or frequently. A front-accessible compartment for disposable gloves is also provided. For training, daily operations, and regular inventory checks, the clear view of the contents of the transparent pouches is particularly helpful: you can see faster which module is complete and where replenishment is needed.
Carrying system, MOLLE, and expansion
The backpack uses the Padded Back System from Tasmanian Tiger and features a removable 38 mm strap as a hip belt. The length-adjustable shoulder straps are padded and can be stowed away if necessary or replaced with the included adapter straps for attachment to compatible professional carrying systems. A large handle facilitates handling when the pack is open. Laser-cut MOLLE refers to a modular attachment system in which the mounting slots are cut directly into reinforced material. This allows compatible accessory pouches or holders to be attached to the outside while keeping the surface flat and tidy. MOLLE is not a fixed accessory package: you decide yourself whether and where you need additional modules.
Materials and technology explained
CORDURA 700 den in the IRR version is a high-strength polyamide fabric for durable equipment. The denier specification simplifies the description of yarn thickness or material class; a higher number is not automatically "better" in every application. The decisive factor is the ratio of abrasion resistance, dimensional stability, and weight. Tasmanian Tiger uses the respective material thickness appropriate to the construction of this model family. The PFC/PFAS-free DWR finish mentioned by Tasmanian Tiger is a water-repellent surface treatment. It helps moisture to bead off initially, but it does not replace a waterproof construction or a waterproof dry bag. Important for beginners: DWR describes the surface treatment and not a guarantee that the entire backpack is permanently waterproof.
IRR stands for Infrared Reflectance or the controlled reflection in the near-infrared range. Tasmanian Tiger meets the relevant German Armed Forces TL requirements for material, webbing, Velcro, and buckles. In practical terms, this means reduced visibility under compatible IR/night vision observation; it does not make the backpack "invisible." For purely civilian outdoor or first-aid applications, this addition is usually not decisive, but for institutional and professional procurement, it can be a specific selection criterion.
38 liters or a smaller medic system?
If 38 liters are too large for your actual contents, it is worth looking at smaller systems: The TT Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 offers 18 liters, a wide-opening side design, and rigid Tegris organization panels. The TT Medic Assault Pack L MK II is flatter at 19 liters and closer to the classic body-hugging assault pack concept. For an even more compact setup, the TT Medic Assault Pack MK II with 15 liters is often the more economical and manageable choice. The 38 is therefore not "better" across the board, but is intended primarily for more extensive team and reserve equipment.
Technical data at a glance
- Volume: 38 liters
- Dimensions: 61 x 28 x 20 cm
- Weight: 3.4 kg
- Material: CORDURA 700 den IRR, 100% polyamide
- Carrying system: Padded Back System, removable 38 mm hip belt
- Interior organization: fully opening main compartment, six removable transparent Velcro pouches, variable attachment points
- Quick access: two front compartments, large lid compartment, front-accessible glove compartment
- Exterior: Laser-cut MOLLE, Velcro surfaces, and additional fixation option on the bottom
- Surface: PFC/PFAS-free DWR finish
- IRR: Material, webbing, Velcro, and buckles according to the manufacturer's stated TL requirements
The Modular Medic Pack 38 is therefore the right choice if you want to not only transport extensive equipment but organize it as a coherent system. For a single person or a deliberately reduced set, it may be oversized; however, for team, event, training, and professional emergency concepts, its clearly structured interior provides exactly the reserve that smaller packs cannot offer.
