DESCRIPTION

The TT Modular Chest Rig Pack combines the idea of a back panel with that of a small, independently usable backpack. This makes it particularly interesting for users who switch between different carrying methods. When combined with a chest rig, the load remains close to the body; with the shoulder straps, the pack can be carried separately. Three attached zippered pockets provide quick access, while the slim main compartment accommodates larger equipment.

The choice of color does not change the intended function. For a carrying system, the design, strap routing, available attachment surfaces, and the question of how much equipment you actually want to carry on the front of your body are much more decisive. It is particularly useful in combination with the TT Modular Chest Rig 4xM4, for which this back panel was designed.

What is the TT Modular Chest Rig Pack suitable for?

  • Expansion of a chest rig: for additional storage space on the back without a separate large backpack.
  • Hydration and light extra clothing: hydration system preparation and variable volume make the pack practical for longer training days.
  • Standalone use: with the included shoulder straps, the back panel can also be carried separately.
  • Modular platforms: adapters for attachment to compatible carrying systems are provided.

Design and practice: What can the system do?

  • Variable volume 12–20 liters: can be adjusted to the actual contents.
  • Slim main compartment: keeps the depth on the back comparatively low.
  • Three zippered front pockets: two with approx. 1.5 liters and one with approx. 1 liter of volume.
  • Hydration system preparation: for compatible hydration bladders and hose routing.
  • Two zippered inner pockets: for smaller items and better organization.
  • Daisy chain and name hook-and-loop: additional attachment and identification options.
  • System adapter included: for the intended chest rig/carrying platform configurations.

Back panels attached directly to the carrying system sit very close to the body and distribute the load differently than a standard backpack. This is compact, but it also means that you cannot easily reach the contents on your back yourself. Therefore, plan to keep frequently needed items towards the front or side and use the back panel for equipment that does not need to be opened constantly. Also, after loading, check whether the back panel pushes upward when sitting or wearing additional outerwear, and whether all side connections are evenly tensioned.

Terms explained simply

  • Daisy chain: a series of attachment loops for light additional parts. It is not a complete substitute for MOLLE.
  • Hydration-compatible: means that a hydration bladder and hose routing are provided; the hydration bladder itself is usually not included.
  • Back panel: a module that can be connected directly to a front carrying platform and therefore does not require classic backpack straps.
  • SAPI size M: standardized shape size for a plate insert; a protective plate is not included in the scope of delivery.

Selection advice: Does the product fit your setup?

The Modular Chest Rig Pack is especially worthwhile if you already own a compatible TT carrying system or are consciously planning to build a system consisting of a front and back panel. For normal hiking or EDC, a standalone backpack is usually less complicated because it is easier to put on and take off. Also, plan for access: a back panel attached directly to the rig sits very close to the body, but cannot be reached as quickly without assistance as a shoulder bag.
