DESCRIPTION

The TT First Responder 50 in olive is a large 50-liter medical backpack designed consistently for organization. Tasmanian Tiger has explicitly designed it for clear storage in vehicles as well. This makes it an interesting choice when extensive equipment needs to be quickly available but must also be transportable as a complete unit. Olive is a classic, muted functional color and is suitable for outdoor use, range use, training, and professional equipment.

With dimensions of approximately 59 × 34 × 23 cm, a volume of 50 liters, and an empty weight of around 3.74 kg, the First Responder 50 clearly belongs to the large category. The design uses CORDURA® 700 den. The volume is not structured as a large empty sack but is usable through numerous variable organizational options.

Variable organization instead of fixed interior

Velcro dividers can be positioned flexibly in the main compartment. These are complemented by removable transparent pockets, colored Velcro strips for identification, and elastic attachment loops. A removable SRPP panel made of Tegris® with a laser-cut hole and slot pattern serves as a dimensionally stable organizational base for bungee cord and Velcro attachments.

Tegris® is a lightweight, rigid thermoplastic composite material. In this backpack, it serves not merely as marketing material, but as a stable carrier plate on which equipment can be organized more securely than on a soft fabric surface.

Details for quick access

An externally accessible compartment for disposable gloves, side slots for SAM® splints, a removable infusion pouch, and a shear attachment demonstrate that the backpack is designed for structured work. There is a MOLLE system on the bottom; for example, an additional compatible pouch can be attached there. Side handles facilitate handling in the vehicle or during loading/unloading.

50 liters means reserve – but also responsibility when packing

A 50-liter backpack can easily be loaded heavily. Therefore, you should place heavy components as close to your back and as centered as possible. Lightweight, voluminous items can be placed further towards the outside. The length-adjustable shoulder straps are also designed for carrying over bulky protective clothing, but they do not replace sensible weight distribution.

First Responder 50 or Move On?

The TT First Responder Move On MK II is the better choice if a detachable front backpack is important to you and you want to be able to split the 40-liter system into two independently wearable units. The First Responder 50, on the other hand, remains a large, cohesive 50-liter backpack with very variable internal organization.

Or rather the Modular Medic Pack 38?

The TT Modular Medic Pack 38 is more compact and better suited if 38 liters are sufficient and you are looking for a more classic modular backpack. The First Responder 50 plays to its strengths when a lot of material really needs to be organized, stored in a vehicle, and then carried as a complete unit.

PFC/PFAS-free DWR: what that means in practice

According to the manufacturer, the current water-repellent finish is PFC/PFAS-free. A DWR treatment initially causes water to bead up on the surface and reduces the quick soaking of the outer material. However, it does not automatically make a bag or backpack waterproof. In the event of prolonged wetness or for sensitive contents, you should therefore continue to plan for additional moisture protection.
