DESCRIPTION

The Predator Combat Pant Navy is Invader Gear's classic performance pant, designed for users who want great freedom of movement, extensive pocket organization, and an adjustable knee area. Unlike standard cargo pants, it features elastic inserts below the waistband and around the knees. This allows the pants to remain flexible during large strides, while crouching, or when transitioning between sitting and standing, even though large sections are made of robust ripstop fabric. This makes them particularly suitable for airsoft, target shooting, training, outdoor activities, and work where you need to organize plenty of gear directly on your person. The Navy colorway looks much more civilian and understated than a camouflage pattern, making it well-suited for training, work, club environments, or daily wear if you want the functional pocket and knee construction without looking too much like you're wearing outdoor gear.

What are the Predator Combat Pants suitable for?

The Predator is a technically designed all-round pant. It is a sensible choice if you are looking for a combination of numerous pockets, wide belt loops, stretch zones, and an adjustable knee area. For purely urban EDC, they are visually more noticeable than jeans or low-profile pants, but for active use, they offer significantly more organization.

  • Airsoft and target shooting: high range of movement as well as pockets on the hips, thighs, lower legs, and rear.
  • Outdoor: quick-drying blended fabric and adjustable leg cuffs for various types of footwear.
  • Training: knee pads and an adjustable knee area are helpful if you regularly work in kneeling positions.
  • Work: many separate compartments reduce the need to carry small items loosely in a large cargo pocket.

Construction and pocket organization

The current Predator uses a ripstop blend of 60% cotton and 40% polyester. Elastic inserts are located below the waist area and around the knees. The waistband is adjustable from the inside; at the ankles, you can adjust the width of the leg to fit your footwear. The large belt loops are practical if you are using a sturdier belt for additional pouches or tool holders.

  • Two open hip pockets: for quick access to frequently needed everyday items.
  • Two large thigh pockets: positioned on the back of the thigh and closable with Velcro.
  • Two medium front pockets: additional organization without stacking everything in the main cargo pockets.
  • Two lower leg pockets: for smaller, flat items you wish to carry separately.
  • Two back pockets: complement the total of ten pocket areas.
  • Adjustable knee zone: pads and knee area can be adjusted; the exact level of protection does not replace certified PPE.

Terms explained clearly

  • Ripstop: a fabric with a woven-in reinforcement grid. It increases tear resistance but does not make the fabric cut- or damage-proof.
  • Stretch zone: specifically elastic material in areas with high movement. This allows the rest of the fabric to remain robust without the pants feeling tight when crouching.
  • Long size: a version with extra leg length compared to standard waist/width classes. This is particularly relevant if standard sizes fit at the waist but are too short in the leg.
  • YKK zipper: a zipper from an established brand manufacturer; on the Predator, it is used for the front fly.
  • Knee pad: a cushion in the knee area. It increases comfort and pressure distribution but should not automatically be equated with certified knee protection PPE.

Selection guide: standard Predator or MK.II?

The standard Predator is particularly interesting if you need a wider range of sizes: in addition to XS through 3XL, Invader Gear offers several Long sizes. The MK.II follows a similar basic principle with stretch zones and ten pocket areas, but according to the current manufacturer data, it uses a different ripstop blend and a slightly different waistband/fastening construction. If fit is your priority, you should therefore choose the available size first and only then decide between the generations. The Revenger TDU is the simpler alternative for users who prefer fewer technical knee/stretch details and a more classic cargo pant style.

Important note on material specifications: Older STG/shop data for some Predator colors still list 80/20 blends. The current manufacturer's website specifies 60% cotton and 40% polyester for the current Predator model. Therefore, the current manufacturer's information was used for this text.
