DESCRIPTION

The TT Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 is a modular 18-liter medic backpack with a significantly more structured interior than a standard daypack. Its main compartment opens wide to the side via a wrap-around zipper; inside, two removable Tegris panels act as rigid organizational surfaces. In addition, there are several removable pouches, three organized front pockets, and interior attachment points. The concept is aimed at professional and demanding users who want to carry medical organizational material in clearly defined modules—such as rescue/medical services, first responders, corporate emergency organizations, event and security services, or outdoor, hunting, shooting, and airsoft groups that manage their own first-aid equipment. MultiCam is particularly useful here if the backpack needs to be visually and organizationally integrated into existing equipment in the same pattern.

Why Tegris and side opening make a difference

The two removable inner panels are made of 12-layer Tegris or SRPP. This material is a self-reinforced polypropylene composite: it provides high rigidity and impact resistance at a comparatively low weight. In practice, this means that loops, bungee attachments, and Velcro modules can be arranged on a dimensionally stable surface rather than just hanging on a soft lining. The panels can be removed and adapted to your configuration.

The wide-opening zipper makes it easier to keep an overview when the pack is laid down or hung up. Tasmanian Tiger has integrated loops for horizontal hanging when opened. Three front pockets feature organizers, mesh pockets, and elastic fasteners. The main compartment also includes a removable pouch with a transparent lid, a longer color-coded zippered pouch, a removable pouch for infusion material, and a slip pocket for patient cards. This equipment describes the organization of the backpack; which medical supplies you actually carry depends on your level of training and your specific concept.

Carrying, attaching, and organizing the exterior

The Padded Back-System supports classic backpack carrying. The padded shoulder straps are removable and stowable. According to the manufacturer, the pack can be carried horizontally or vertically and features several sturdy handles. Lateral laser-cut surfaces and MOLLE Velcro on the inside create additional modular attachment options. An adapter for attachment to compatible professional carrier systems is part of the concept. Laser-cut MOLLE refers to a modular attachment system in which the mounting slots are cut directly into reinforced material. This allows compatible additional pouches or holders to be attached to the outside while the surface remains flat and uncluttered. MOLLE is not a fixed accessory package: you decide yourself if and where you need additional modules.

Material and technology explained clearly

CORDURA 500 den is a high-strength polyamide fabric for heavy-duty equipment. The denier rating simply describes the yarn thickness or material class; a higher number is not automatically "better" for every application. The decisive factor is the ratio of abrasion resistance, dimensional stability, and weight. Tasmanian Tiger uses the respective material thickness appropriate to the design of this model family. Tegris complements the textile outer material where rigid organizational surfaces are required. The PFC/PFAS-free DWR finish mentioned by Tasmanian Tiger is a water-repellent surface treatment. It helps moisture bead off initially, but it is not a substitute for a waterproof construction or a dry bag. Important for beginners: DWR describes the surface treatment and not a guarantee that the entire backpack is permanently waterproof.

For the MultiCam version, Tasmanian Tiger currently specifies CORDURA 500 den plus Tegris. The material specification thus remains intentionally aligned with the official MC product page and is not derived from the IRR or solid-color version.

Which medic backpack fits better?

The TT Medic Assault Pack MK II is flatter and more simply designed at 15 liters; it fits well if you are looking for a classic, body-hugging medic backpack with transparent inner pouches. The TT Medic Assault Pack L MK II offers 19 liters and more depth, but retains the Assault Pack's interior logic. The TT Modular Medic Pack 38 is the significantly larger team solution at 38 liters. The Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 is particularly worthwhile if, at a medium volume, you place special value on stiff, repositionable organizational surfaces and very wide-opening access.

Technical specifications at a glance

  • Volume: 18 liters
  • Dimensions: 46 x 25 x 17 cm
  • Weight: 1.93 kg
  • Outer material: CORDURA 500 den, 100% polyamide
  • Reinforcement/Organization: Tegris, 12-layer removable panels
  • Carrying system: Padded Back-System; padded shoulder straps removable and stowable
  • Access: wrap-around zipper, opens wide to the side
  • Front: three compartments with organizer, mesh, and elastic organization
  • Inside: MOLLE Velcro, removable organizational modules, and two dimensionally stable panels
  • Surface: PFC/PFAS-free DWR finish

The Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 is particularly interesting if you are not looking for maximum volume, but rather a durable, modular interior layout in a medium-sized pack. Thanks to the Tegris panels, the organization can be more strongly aligned to fixed positions and repeatable routines than with a classic soft backpack—an advantage when several users work with the same packing logic or if the contents are checked regularly.
