DESCRIPTION
If a chest rig works well in the front, but lacks storage space in the back, the TT Modular Chest Rig Pack is exactly the solution. It expands the carrying platform with a slim, close-fitting pack featuring three front pockets, a main compartment, and hydration system preparation. The volume is variable, allowing you to keep the pack flat when it’s lightly loaded or expand it up to 20 liters when needed. Important: It is designed as a system component and should not be confused with a classic hiking backpack.
The choice of color does not change the intended function. For a carrying system, the decisive factors are the design, the shoulder strap routing, available attachment surfaces, and the question of how much equipment you actually want to carry on the front of your body. The combination with the TT Modular Chest Rig 4xM4, for which this back panel was designed, is particularly practical.
What is the TT Modular Chest Rig Pack suitable for?
- Expansion of a chest rig: for additional storage space on the back without a separate large backpack.
- Hydration and light extra clothing: hydration system preparation and variable volume make the pack practical for long training days.
- Standalone use: with the included shoulder straps, the back panel can also be worn separately.
- Modular platforms: adapters for attachment to compatible carrying systems are provided.
Design and practice: What can the system do?
- Variable volume 12–20 liters: can be adjusted to the actual contents.
- Slim main compartment: keeps the depth on the back comparatively low.
- Three zippered front pockets: two with approximately 1.5 liters and one with approximately 1 liter of volume.
- Hydration system preparation: for compatible hydration bladders and hose routing.
- Two zippered inside pockets: for smaller items and better organization.
- Daisy chain and name tag hook-and-loop: additional attachment and identification options.
- System adapter included: for the intended chest rig/carrying platform configurations.
Back panels attached directly to a carrying system sit very close to the body and distribute the load differently than a standard backpack. This is compact, but it also means that you cannot easily reach the contents on your back yourself. Therefore, plan to keep frequently used items towards the front or sides and use the back panel for equipment that does not need to be accessed constantly. After loading, also check whether the back panel pushes upward when sitting or wearing additional outerwear, and whether all side connections are evenly tensioned.
Terms simply explained
- Daisy chain: a series of attachment loops for light additional parts. It is not a complete replacement for MOLLE.
- Hydration-compatible: means that a hydration bladder and hose routing are intended; the hydration bladder itself is usually not included.
- Back panel: a module that can be connected directly to a front carrying platform, thus eliminating the need for classic backpack straps.
- SAPI size M: standardized size for a plate insert; a protective plate is not included in the delivery.
Selection advice: Does the product fit your setup?
The Modular Chest Rig Pack is particularly worth it if you already own a compatible TT carrying system or consciously want to build a system consisting of a front and back panel. For normal hiking or EDC, a standalone backpack is usually more straightforward because it is easier to put on and take off. Also, plan for accessibility: a back panel attached directly to the rig is very close to the body, but cannot be reached as quickly as a shoulder bag without help.
