DESCRIPTION
TRAMONTANE weighs 120 g and can be compressed into the size of a drink can in a pocket sewn on the chest (the so-called Selfpack). Stored this way, it even fits into a trouser pocket. The light weight of the TRAMONTANE jacket is noticeable when worn - it protects against wind and at the same time does not restrict freedom of movement, you can even forget that you are wearing it. In colder periods, it makes a great set with a fleece or combat shirt from the Patrol line.
The TRAMONTANE jacket is made of very light but durable WindPack® Nylon. It is a quick-drying, non-absorbent material that is additionally treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellency) impregnation, so it can withstand light rain or snow. Even if it gets wet, the Tramontane jacket dries very quickly. It can also be zipped up over its entire length, providing good ventilation. The drawstring at the bottom edge of the jacket, the elastic bands at the cuffs and the adjustable hood allow heat to be retained inside if necessary.
The windproof jackets from the Helikon-Tex offer are named after various types of wind. The TRAMONTANE jacket takes its name from the cool north or northeast wind that prevails in the Mediterranean region.
