DESCRIPTION

The Predator Combat Pant Ranger Green is the classic functional Predator trouser by Invader Gear, designed for users who want a great deal of freedom of movement, very extensive pocket layout, and an adjustable knee area. Unlike standard cargo trousers, it features elastic inserts below the waistband and around the knees. This keeps the trousers flexible when taking long strides, squatting, or switching between sitting and standing, even though large sections are made of robust ripstop. This makes them particularly suitable for airsoft, target shooting, training, outdoor activities, and work where you need to organize a lot of gear directly on your body. Ranger Green is a muted green-grey tone that is very easy to combine with black, coyote, and other muted colors. It is a good choice if you want a functional setup but do not need a camouflage pattern.

What are the Predator Combat Pants suitable for?

The Predator is a technically constructed all-round trouser. It is useful if you are looking for a combination of many pockets, wide belt loops, stretch zones, and an adjustable knee area. For pure urban EDC, they are visually much more conspicuous than jeans or low-profile trousers; for active use, however, they offer significantly more organization.

  • Airsoft and target shooting: high range of motion as well as pockets on the hips, thighs, lower legs, and rear.
  • Outdoor: quick-drying blended fabric and adjustable leg cuffs for different types of footwear.
  • Training: knee pads and an adjustable knee area are helpful if kneeling positions occur regularly.
  • Work: many separate compartments reduce the need to carry small items loose in a large cargo pocket.

Construction and pocket organization

The current Predator uses a ripstop blend of 60% cotton and 40% polyester. Elastic inserts are located below the waist area as well as around the knees. The waistband can be adjusted from the inside; you can adjust the leg width at the ankles to fit your footwear. The large belt loops are practical if you use a sturdier belt for additional pouches or tool holders.

  • Two open hip pockets: for quick access to frequently needed everyday items.
  • Two large thigh pockets: placed at the rear of the thigh and closable with Velcro.
  • Two medium front pockets: additional organization without stacking everything in the main cargo pockets.
  • Two lower leg pockets: for smaller, flat items that you want to carry separately.
  • Two back pockets: complete the total of ten pocket areas.
  • Adjustable knee zone: pads and knee area can be adjusted; the exact protective effect does not replace certified PPE.

Terms explained

  • Ripstop: a fabric with an integrated reinforcement grid. It increases tear resistance, but does not make the fabric cut-proof or damage-proof.
  • Stretch zone: specifically elastic material in high-movement areas. This allows the rest of the fabric to remain robust without the trousers pulling tightly when squatting.
  • Long size: a version with extra leg length for a comparable waist/width class. This is particularly relevant if standard sizes fit at the waist but are too short at the leg.
  • YKK zipper: a zipper from an established brand manufacturer; on the Predator, it is located on the front fly.
  • Knee pad: a cushion in the knee area. It increases comfort and pressure distribution but should not automatically be equated with certified knee protection PPE.

Selection guide: standard Predator or MK.II?

The standard Predator is particularly interesting if you need a larger size selection: in addition to XS through 3XL, Invader Gear also carries several Long sizes. The MK.II has a similar basic principle with stretch zones and ten pocket areas, but according to current manufacturer data, it uses a different ripstop blend and a slightly different waistband/fastening design. If fit is a priority, you should therefore first select the available size and only then decide between the generations. The Revenger TDU is the simpler alternative for users who prefer fewer technical knee/stretch details and a more classic cargo trouser.

Important note on material specifications: Older data or shop information for some Predator colors still lists 80/20 blends. The current manufacturer's page specifies 60% cotton and 40% polyester for the current Predator model. Therefore, the current manufacturer's specification was used for this text.
